Better vs Not Done

Yesterday I was recording a video for one of my companies,

I don’t consider myself lazy, but I was delaying doing it. There are always things that can be done to improve slides, maybe I need to buy a new mic, the software wasn’t perfect and I should really have a higher sample rate… right?

One solution worked for me…

I starved myself by saying, I’m not eating lunch until I record this. The truth is it took 20 minutes and while I see all the flaws, no one else does. Obviously slightly delaying lunch isn’t a big deal at all, but I pushed through the resistance and just did it.

Not with the best software, not with the best anything, but I got it done.

When I watched it, I see all the flaws, but it is much better than things I have abandoned, and I can focus on other parts that are less done than the video. The truth is… it will be redone many many times and I’m cool with that.

If I keep making the worst part a bit better it is exponentially better than not done.

What do you need to get done and keep pushing on?
